Description
- Recognizes human beta-NGF
- NGF is a member of neurotrophin family that regulates cell proliferation and differentiation and regulation of neural stem cells
- beta-NGF stimulates growth of sympathetic and some sensory neurites
Process:
- Antibody specific for beta -NGF pre-coated onto microwells
- Beta-NGF protein in samples captured by coated antibody after incubation
- After extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for beta-NGF is added to detect captured beta-NGF protein
- For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent
- Solution containing sulfuric acid used to stop color development and color intensity
- Proportional to quantity of bound protein, measurable at 450 nm with correction wavelength set at 630 nm
