Description
- The Axioscope 5 is a flexible manual upright microscope that can be used for a for a range of transmitted light observations and also a fluorescence model is available.
- The possible contrast methods are brightfield, darkfield, phase contrast, PlasDIC, DIC, fluorescence,
and transmitted/reflected light polarization depending on the configuration. This allows the microscope to be used for a range of applications in biology research, human and veterinary medicine, microbiology, plant science & botany and forensics. - The microscope body is powder coated durable metal, heat treated and resistant to standard reagents used for staining, organic solvents used for cleaning of lenses and disinfectants.
- All optical parts including objectives, eyepieces, lenses, prisms, have anti-reflective and anti-fungal coating.
- The microscope offers a coaxial z-drive with coarse and fine focus. Fine focus knob left and right. The focus range is 24 mm. The microscope includes an adjustable focus stop. The coarse focus provides movements of 4 mm/rotation, the fine focus comes with 400μm/rotation and with a graduation in micrometers (4μm).
- The microscope comes with a manual revolving nosepiece with 6 encoded positions, suitable for reading objective position for light intensity manager functionality and for scaling information.
- The microscope provides an energy saving and illumination life time extending Eco-mode function. When active, your microscope automatically goes to standby after being idle for 15 minutes, with a click of any button the microscope system is instantly on again.
- The microscope body is equipped with two integrated, ergonomically positioned “snap image buttons” close to the focus drive on both sides of the microscope body to minimize hand movements and to optimally support left and right handed users. The “snap image button” allows to acquire images and videos directly from the stand (with Axiocam 208/202 in stand-alone mode and with Labscope; with any Axiocam with ZEN).
- The microscope offers a mechanical, rackless stage with hardcoat anodized surface, for right hand operation (optionally left hand). The stage handle comes with 15 mm extension and with adjustable torque to ensure an ergonomic working position that reduces fatigue.
- The transmitted light illumination is an integrated, high luminosity, encoded 10W white light LED. It provides sufficient light intensity, even for light-demanding applications or contrasting techniques, such as darkfield. The 10W LED is also beneficial for multi-discussion/co-observation setups where it can support more than 11 co-observers. The very high color rendering index of > 95 of this LED provides high color fidelity sample observation. The 10W LED offers an expected life time of > 60.000 hours and comes with an integrated power supply in the stand.
- The same stand is also compatible with halogen illumination and allows to mount optionally
a 100W halogen lamp with external power supply instead of the LED. - The microscope provides active light management with an adjustable light intensity. The light intensity is memorized per objective and provides uniform brightness at all magnifications, eliminating manual lamp intensity adjustments
when changing objectives. - The microscope uses full Koehler illumination with integrated tools to Koehler the microscope. The microscope typically works with an Abbe or achromatic, aplanatic sub-stage condenser including iris diaphragm. The condenser height and height limit stop can be adjusted and fixed.
