Description
Inhibits angiogenesis and reduces lung metastases by inhibiting matrix metalloproteinases.Doxycycline hydrochloride is an antibiotic used to inhibit matrix metalloproteinases like type 1 collagenase in studies on would healing and tissue remodeling. It shows the broad spectrum antibacterial and antiprotozoan activity. It is often used to treat lyme disease, chronic prostatitis, sinusitis, pelvic inflammatory disease acne, rosacea, and rickettsial infections and prophylaxis of anthrax.

General Description
- Doxycycline hydrochloride is a compound that shows antibacterial and antimicrobial activities against several species, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Plasmodium falciparum, and Escherichia coli. It is also a bacteriostatic
- It can block the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the mRNA-ribosome complex, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis
Application
- It is used to eliminate Borrelia burgdorferi and Anaplasma phagocytophilum in rodent reservoirs and eliminate Ixodes scapularis ticks
- Doxycycline hydrochloride is also considered to be a broad-spectrum inhibitor used to inhibit matrix metalloproteinases (MMP), such as type 1 collagenase, in wound healing and tissue remodeling studies. Due to this activity, it can inhibit angiogenesis and reduce lung metastases
