It is used as mold release agent and lubricant in fabricating elastomers. As a dispersant, it is used in toothpastes. It finds application in blood banking as a potentiator, which is used to detect antigens and antibodies. In pharmaceutical industry, it is used as tablet and capsule lubricant.
