Potassium hexacyanoferrate(II) trihydrate is widely used in anticaking agent for both road and table salt. It is involved in the purification of tin and separation of copper from molybdenum ores. It plays a vital role in the in production of wine and citric acid. In analytical chemistry, it is used to determine the concentration of potassium permanganate. It is in combination with potassium ferricyanide and phosphate buffered solution acts as buffer for beta-galatosidase. Further, it is used as fertilizers for plants.
