It is also used for the treatment for arrhythmias and sympathomimetics. It is useful chiral synthon and building block for depsipeptides. It is used as a corrosion inhibitor in alcohol antifreeze mixtures, flavoring agent, emulsifier, corrosion inhibitor and pH control agent.
