Description

Detect the antibodies to Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae in porcine serum with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Mycoplasma hyponeumoniae Detection Kit. The enzyme immunoassay is designed to deliver specific, sensitive, and fast detection of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae in porcine serum.

Enzootic pneumonia is a disease of pigs, caused by infection with M. hyopneumoniae. A specific and sensitive serological test for the detection of antibodies to M. hyopneumoniae in porcine serum is required for surveillance and precise diagnosis of the disease. The traditional methods for laboratory diagnosis of enzootic pneumonia are complement fixation, indirect haemagglutination, and more recently, indirect ELISA. None of these methods are, however, ideal due to low sensitivity and/or specificity.

Use Mycoplasma hyponeumoniae Detection Kit for the sensitive and specific detection of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae in porcine samples.

  • Simple: Ready-to-use liquid reagents and concentrates make the assay easy to implement and run, even with high number of samples
  • Sensitive: Detect proteins at low levels for improved assurance of safety
  • Specific: Improved specificity due to selection of highly specific monoclonal antibody against a conserved epitope of the M. hyopneumoniae 74KDa protein.

The Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae ELISA is a blocking assay that has a significantly improved performance compared with traditional assays and is rapid and simple to use even with high numbers of samples.1, 2 The specificity of the test is improved over other methods by the use of a highly specific monoclonal antibody against a conserved epitope of the M. hyopneumoniae 74KDa protein which does not cross-react with M. flocculare.
